Sande is a municipality in the far north of Vestfold. The distance to cities like Drammen and Oslo and the rest of Vestfold is short. There are approx. 8300 inhabitants in Sande, and the municipality has a strong population growth. Sande covers an area of 178 square kilometers.
Recent years has seen a great development in Sande; relocation of the E-18 freeway, a new railway station, a town square upgrade, ecological farming initatives and exciting new growth opportunities through the creation of 1,600 housing units at Nordre Jarlsberg Brygge in 10 to 15 years.
Sande has a beautiful landscape, one of Vestfold's longest coastlines, lakes and lovely woodland, and offers many adventures – both summer and winter. The municipality has a rich cultural life with ca.100 clubs and organizations, and kindergartens, schools and care services are priority areas.
